Dominion Voting information $1.3B defamation swimsuit towards former Trump lawyer

Voting machine maker Dominion Voting Strategies on Friday filed a defamation lawsuit in the direction of Sidney Powell, a former Trump advertising marketing campaign lawyer that repeatedly made unfounded claims the company rigged the 2020 presidential election for President-elect Joe Biden by manipulating votes. 

“Powell’s wild accusations are demonstrably false,” reads the 124-page grievance filed in US District Court docket docket for the District of Columbia. “Showing in dwell efficiency with allies and media retailers which have been determined to promote a false preconceived narrative in regards to the 2020 election, Powell launched a viral disinformation advertising marketing campaign about Dominion that reached tens of tens of millions of people and prompted monumental harm to Dominion.”

Dominion is looking for $1.three billion in damages from Powell, who was cut from the president’s legal team in November.

In an emailed assertion on Friday, Dominion CEO John Poulos said the lawsuit is the 1st step in restoring faith in his agency and the elections, together with that “present assaults on the democratic course of” are the outcomes of a “deliberate and malicious advertising marketing campaign of lies over many months.” 

A marketing consultant for Powell couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.
