Guerrilla casually confirms Horizon Forbidden West sequel -By Fsk

The developer of Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West has casually confirmed something we’ve all been hoping for. Yep, that’s right, we’ll have another trip with Aloys and co in the future.

In a recent management update, Guerrilla announced that its studio director and executive producer Angie Smeets was set to begin a new role at PlayStation Studios as head of development strategy.

Along with the customary words of praise for Smeets’ work in the company, Guerrilla also laid the groundwork for their new management team.

Guerrilla now has Joel Eschler, Hella Schmidt and Jan-Bart van Beek heading the studio, and this is where things get interesting. Here’s what Guerrilla had to say about his new roles within the company:

“We have full confidence in our new leadership as they lead Guerrilla into a bright future, taking on Aloy’s next adventure and expanding our world of horizons with our exciting online project.”

So there you have it. The Horizon trilogy has been confirmed.

We’ve heard rumblings about this before. Finally, back in December, the studio said it was “continuing to create epic solo adventures for Aloy” along with confirming an online outing. However, at this point, all Guerrilla could be talking about is their recently released Burning Shores DLC.

With this, Horizon’s recent PSVR2 Call of the Mountain launch, a rumored Zero Dawn PS5 remaster, and a Netflix show currently in the works, Horizon’s horizon is certainly looking pretty full.

In the meantime, if you’re currently playing through the Forbidden West’s Burning Shores DLC but need a little extra hand, be sure to check out our guides. Here’s one on The Splinter Within sidequest that will help get you started.
