Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal on Sunday condemned the “repression” by the Bharatiya Janata Celebration (BJP) authorities in Haryana in opposition to peacefully and democratically protesting farmers.
In an announcement, Mr Badal stated: “The response of Haryana’s BJP authorities clearly confirmed that this celebration and its governments on the centre and within the states are stuffed with hatred for the farmers and don’t have any intention in any respect of resolving the crises created by the passage of three Acts on the advertising and marketing of the farmers’ produce.”
“It’s stunning that no effort was made in any respect by these in energy in Haryana to speak to the farmers who have been protesting peacefully. As an alternative, they abused ‘the may of the state’ to impress and suppress democratic protests,” he added.
Mr Badal stated that the police repression together with using water cannons confirmed how insensitive the BJP has change into to the plight of the farmers.
“The Punjab unit of BJP is rubbing salt in farmers’ wounds. I fail to grasp this celebration’s general mindset in opposition to farmers. On the one hand, they’re inviting farmers for talks whereas on the opposite they’re scary them by means of protests and provocative acts in opposition to them,” he stated.
