Netflix has released its first teaser trailer for the third season of The Witcher, which finally features Henry Cavill as Geralt.
There is also a release date, with the series split into two volumes: the first will arrive on June 29, the second on July 27. These days it’s happening constantly on Netflix, so viewers can watch a few episodes in one go, but not the entire season.

“Now, for the first time, I understand real fear,” Cavill growls, before we see Ciri and Yennefer in distress.
I hope we get to see more real witchcraft this time around.
The series completed filming last September; Netflix previously released a plot summary that focused on Ciri’s “untapped powers” and how Geralt and Yennefer attempt to protect her.
After filming of season three ended, it was revealed that Cavill would not be returning to the role of Geralt, which would instead be taken over by Liam Hemsworth – most famous for playing Gale Hawthorne in The Hunger Games movie series.
It’s unclear why Cavill decided to leave, though he was later dropped for the Superman role, reportedly after disagreeing with the showrunners on The Witcher, and will now star in the Warhammer 40k series by Amazon.
