Starship Troopers: Extermination launches in Early Access form on May 17th.
The Early Access launch offers a small sample of the first-person shooter, said developer Offworld Industries (Squad, Post Scriptum, Beyond the Wire).
You play a trooper as part of the 16-player co-op versus the famous nasty alien bug of Starship Troopers. You need to complete objectives, gather resources, build and defend your base, then escape to the extraction point in squads of four.
There are three playable classes (attack, support, and defense), and a class progression system that lets you unlock new weapons, equipment, and perks.
For Aliens, expect five bug types at the Early Access launch (Drone, Warrior, Gunner, Plasma Grenadier, and Tiger Elite). The risk of bugs increases during missions, so as you enter larger and more dangerous enemy battles.
The action takes place on a large map with five unique regions. Offworld Industries said to expect hundreds of bugs on screen, which is exactly what you’d expect from a Starship Troopers game.
