Wild Hearts’ latest free, post-launch content update is now live.
“There’s been a lot happening in the world of Wild Hearts lately,” the team explains. “We deployed a PC crash hotfix and a Claw Blade & Bow rebalance patch last week. There’s a lot to share and we don’t even know what’s in today’s content update!”
“Death’s Gloombeak soars into Akikure Canyon, with a new title and a new talisman skill for those capable of reaching new heights as a hunter. Serial Hunt – a new kind of special quest – has also been added, and It may very well be the toughest challenge the hunters of Azuma have seen to date.”
Successfully defeat Deathhaze Glombeak, and the hunter will secure the “Illustrious Title” of Deathhaze Exorcist, as well as unlock a new Toxic Shock Talisman skill that allows you to damage the health of a Poisonous Kimono.
The new content also introduces the all-new Serial Hunts, which task you with hunting down a series of kamono in a set time period without being able to recover in wells of water. With every round you win, you’ll secure “prizes and unlock new chat stamps and emotes”.
“Every time you successfully kill a target, your reward increases. However, if you fail at any stage of the hunt, you will not receive any reward,” the team teases. “Hunters may choose to end the hunt early to receive any promised rewards, at least up to that point.”
Matt awarded Wild Hearts a recommended badge, calling it “much more than just a Monster Hunter clone”, adding that “Wild Hearts exceeds expectations and then some, mixing streamlined action with inventive new toys”.
Thomas writes in DigitalFoundries Wild, “There’s no wild-hearted motivation here: You accept missions, track down the giant beasts that roam the land and you battle day and night, alone or in online co-op ” Hearts Face Off feature.
“What sets this game apart is its targeted hardware: Wild Hearts only targets current-gen consoles and PCs, while Monster Hunter is firmly addressing older gaming hardware. It took me a lot to review the game.” given the optimism – but it’s clear that despite some laudable ambition here, each version of the game has some form of technical issues that must be addressed.
